ORH 2018 - Nathan's Dream Come True
7year old Nathan refuses to go to school: the teasing and mocking have become simply too painful to bear. Being labeled ‘harelip’ is embarrassing and hurtful and the social ostracism more than just difficult to live with.
Such insults an isolation has a major impact on a child’s psychsocial development. This is a common experience for those suffering from this condition. Nathan's mother’s only wish is that the operation, normally unaffordable for her, but now accessible thanks to ORH, will help her son’s social integration.
As much as she wants him to resume his education and to have a chance of living a normal life, as a mother she just wants her boy to be happy.With the help of ORH and its sponsors, this child’s dream is well within reach.
Nathan is dreaming of joining the police force when his is grown up, just to find and punish his previous school mates who were mean to him. He would like to become an advocate for children like him and wants to educate people to be kind and respectful to each other.
